Continuing w/ our anglophile obsession, Ken & I recently saw The Queen, which was very good. Helen Mirren & Michael Sheen are great in it. Initially, I was sure that the story must have been totally fictionalized, but, according to the Wikipedia entry, supposedly there was considerable effort to recreate the story accurately. The events were reconstructed thru extensive interviews w/ many unnamed sources close to Blair & the Royal Family & these sources were corroborated w/ each other. Of course, it's Wikipedia, so we have to take that w/ a grain of salt, but I have to say I was really surprised to see the movie depict Queen Elizabeth as such a strong character, when I had always assumed that she was a pretty weak figurehead.
