Kill Hannah Live

Here's a crappy cell fone vid from the concert we went to Wednesday nite at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza. We got to see 4 bands: Resident Heroes, Sick Puppies, Kill Hannah and Flyleaf.

We didn't know anything about Resident Heroes going in, they're an unsigned band, so Ken couldn't download any songs, but they had a lot of fun energy. The drummer was especially entertaining - during one song he used his head to play the cymbal. Sick Puppies were better live than their studio recordings and had a rockin' girl bassist :) Kill Hannah (the band we went to see) started off kind of roughly - the singer seemed like he was drunk or high or something, he stood on top of the drums several times and at one point climbed all the way up to the left of the stage into the audience balcony, right where Ken and I had been standing a little while before! But then they settled into some old 1st album songs and sounded better. Still not as good as the time we saw them at the Bowery Ballroom last year, tho. The headline band, Flyleaf, had a teeny tiny girl singer and an almost as teeny tiny guy guitarist, but the band was all hardcore. A little too much screaming and not enough melody, tho, so we left early and went to Haru for some delish midnite sushi.

Not that you can really tell, but the video is of Kill Hannah singing one of our favorite songs "Lips Like Morphine."
